Syrian Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates and Commissioner-General of the Syrian Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, Dr. Ghassan Abbas, pointed out the importance of the UAE hosting the International Expo for the first time in the region, pointing out that this exhibition will witness an unparalleled success and that Syria seeks to have its participation in Expo 2020 Dubai in addition. Distinguished for this important international exhibition that reflects the civilized image of the Syrian culture and the Syrian people.
Ambassador Abbas said that participation in the exhibition is an opportunity to enhance our presence on the international scene through our communication with visitors from all over the world during the exhibition period.. Currently, work is underway around the clock to finish the final touches to the pavilion in preparation for the opening.

According to the organizers of the Syria Pavilion, visitors will learn about several stations that showcase some of the most important Syrian historical contributions to human civilization. Many languages from Syria and how this alphabet affected the world, leading to the Arabic language, which affected many of the world's languages.
Visitors can read words in their languages of Arabic origin, indicating that what unites us as human beings is much more than what divides us.
In another station, the pavilion focuses on the development of the first agricultural societies in Syria, which researchers date back to about 15,000 BC, which had a role in developing early techniques for counting and recording that preceded writing using a clay number called “tokens”, which is the basis on which the Bronze Age economy and what followed were built. from civilizations.
At this station as well, according to the pavilion's organizers, visitors will be able to participate in an interactive artwork of which the pavilion's visitors will be a part and symbolize the organic relationship between man and nature.
Visitors will also learn about the oldest musical notation discovered in the world, and they will participate through an interactive experience of video, sound and light in playing and singing this piece, which was written in Ugarit about 3500 years ago. .
In another station of the pavilion, a group exhibition of Syrian painters will be held under the theme “I am the Syrian”, where each painting represents a face from Syria.. The idea of the exhibition is based on the fact that every Syrian person is part of the collective awareness that we all together will build a brighter future for Syria and the world, and the artists will Signing all the paintings with one signature, “I am the Syrian,” expressing the dissolution of the individual ego in favor of the group.
At the end of the tour, the pavilion receives its visitors in an area that is the heart of the pavilion, which is an area that expresses Syria and the Syrians in their words and pictures, where a wooden number similar to the clay figure discovered by prospectors throughout Syria was used, and through an initiative launched by the work team through social media, more than 1,500 citizens participated. Syrians from inside and outside Syria in the Syrian pavilion industry, where this number was sent to those who registered via the website and shared their messages to the world through it. This station will be a wonderful panel expressing the feelings of all Syrians, their aspirations and their vision for the future.
