In the fourth quarter of the year, 81% of Argentine employers do not expect to make changes to their personnel payrolls, 4% plan to decrease them,
8% to increase them
and the remaining 7% do not know if they will make changes.
The data comes from the ManpowerGroup Employment Outlook Survey, corresponding to the fourth quarter, which forecasts a
slight increase in hiring intentions by the
end of the year.
Thus, the Net Employment Outlook (ENE) for the fourth quarter of 2021 gives a positive level of 4%.
This shows an increase of 3 percentage points compared to the previous quarter and an increase of 7 percentage points in the year-on-year comparison.

The value of the ENE is obtained by taking the percentage of employers that expect to increase their workforce and subtracting the percentage of those that project a decrease during the next quarter.
The
best prospects in Argentina are for the Cuyo region
, with an ENE of 10%.
Patagonia reports the weakest intentions, with an additional 2%.
For the second consecutive quarter,
the Agriculture & Fisheries sector leads the strongest intentions in the sample
, with an increase in employment expectations of 11%, while Finance, Insurance & Real Estate reports the weakest projections, with a fall of 1%.
The field work was carried out between July 14 and 30, with interviews with more than 700 Argentine employers, during a stage of greater openness and flexibility regarding the restrictions established in the country.
"Despite the fact that 81% of the Argentine employers surveyed do not plan to make changes to their payroll between October and December of this year, we can see a slight upturn in hiring intentions," says Luis Guastini, ManpowerGroup Argentina CEO.
"This result is driven by the expectations of the Cuyo, NOA and Pampeana regions," Guastini explained.
“The prediction of a positive outlook in the quarterly and year-on-year comparison, with an increase of 3 and 7 percentage points respectively, may be linked to the improvement in the health situation and, consequently,
greater openings and flexibilities
that we were going through at the time of carrying out field work ”.
When comparing the results year-on-year, expectations increase in all the regions of the country surveyed.
The most notable increase is reported by the Cuyo region, with 18 percentage points, followed by the NOA, with 13 points.
The slight upturn registered in Argentina is far from the results obtained in other countries in the region.
In America, employers in
nine of the ten countries surveyed expect increases in their hiring expectations
for the fourth quarter of the year.
The United States leads this trend (+ 48%), followed by Canada (+ 40%) and Mexico (+ 39%).
On the other hand, Panama (-2%) and Argentina (+ 4%) and Peru (+ 5%) report the weakest expectations in the region.
Training plans
The survey also reveals that almost half of employers (46%)
do not plan to train
their employees
in soft skills,
but the majority maintain that it is one of the most required aspects for future talent.
14% have already applied one of these programs, another 14% plan to do so in the next 6 months and 26% plan to offer them in the future.
Regarding training in technical skills, 40% do not plan to train their collaborators in this matter.
On the contrary, 19% have already executed one of these programs, 18% plan to do so in the next 6 months and 23% in the future.
