Today, the Ministry of Public Works and Housing approved the decision of the Central Council of the Syndicate of Engineers, which includes reducing the fees for studies, auditing and supervision fees for projects to generate electric power from photovoltaic cells currently in force.
According to a ministry statement, which SANA received a copy of, the reduction rate ranges between (35 and 85) percent and includes all engineering disciplines and aims to support alternative energy projects and encourage citizens to acquire them and reduce their financial burdens.
In a statement to SANA’s delegate, the Captain of Engineers, Dr. Eng. (Ghiath Qutini), explained that this decision includes reducing the wages of electrical and mechanical works to the minimum and reducing the wages of civil works to below the minimum for projects of alternative energies to generate electricity with photovoltaic panels, in order to encourage investors and grant licenses in accordance with the rules and to prevent confusion in these projects.
