Damascus-SANA
Today, the Ministry of Transport issued a decision to allow those who wish to obtain an urgent market permit in return for paying a financial fee of one hundred thousand Syrian pounds according to a receipt for the state’s public treasury.
In a statement to SANA’s representative, the director of the Driving Licenses Directorate at the Ministry of Transport, Maad Salman, stated that the decision comes within the framework of the controls for preventing exceptions, so that the driver’s license becomes equally available to all citizens for those who wish to obtain it.
Salman explained that the decision targets citizens registered in driving schools, applicants for driving licenses, and are able and trained to drive, noting that they will be subject to all examinations, but they wish to conduct the examination ahead of schedule and obtain an urgent driving licence, for their own reasons.
Salman stressed that the decision does not cancel the practical, mechanical and traffic safety examination procedures, and that whoever passes the test immediately obtains the document to submit to the traffic branch in the concerned governorate to obtain his driver's license from it.
