When businessmen linked to Construction are asked to

what extent the activity was hit by the pandemic, 61% indicate that the impact was significant.

However, as the restrictions to continue with the works became more flexible, the rhythm gradually resumed and

today almost 80% of the works are in normal

progress

.

"Of the works with a contract in force as of July 31, 2021, 79% are under normal development, 8% with provisional reception, 7% are delayed and

only 3% are paralyzed

. The proportion of works with normal development is similar to the previous wave, "which lasted until the end of June, recorded

the latest survey conducted by the Argentine Chamber of Construction (Camarco).

The survey was conducted on a sample of 75 companies in the sector, both members and non-members of the entity, who answered the survey between August 4 and September 1.

Among the main conclusions of the work, it was detailed that:

* In July of this year, 57% of the companies submitted budgets or offers for public works and 41% for private works.

While

35% had a private work awarded and 38% some public work,

in both there was an increase compared to the previous wave.

* In the same period, 11% of the companies had

personnel suspended

under the UOCRA agreement, a value significantly higher than in the previous wave.

Results of the survey carried out by the Argentine Chamber of Construction (CAMARCO)

* In the case of personnel under the Labor Contract Law 20,744, 6% of the companies indicated that they had suspended personnel and this value was similar to the previous wave.

* Regarding

the expectations of the sector during August, 55% of businessmen expect activity to increase

in the next three months.

27% expect it to remain the same and only 11% believe that activity will decrease.

Expectations improved

compared to the previous wave and there are three measurements with increase.

* In relation to the measures taken by the Government to encourage construction activity, 27% believe that they are good or very good,

36% fair and 33% bad

.

In this case, the evaluation of the measures taken improved significantly compared to the previous wave.

At this point, the activity was halfway through with some measures promoted by the private sector and endorsed by the Government but which are not yet successful, such as

money laundering

to encourage new works and an initiative to recover mortgage credit. The extension for these measures is still pending approval by Congress.

* Regarding

the access of companies to the basic inputs

of the sector, according to the results of the survey of the Chamber, which on October 5 is preparing to hold its Annual Convention, 73% said they had problems in July with the supply of

iron rods, 57% with bricks and 57% with cement.

However, these percentages were lower than those registered in the previous consultation.
