With three rounds of strikes, the train drivers' union paralyzed large parts of rail traffic. A fourth round has now been averted: Deutsche Bahn and GDL announced an agreement in Berlin.

Deutsche Bahn has reached an agreement in the wage dispute with the train drivers' union GDL.

This was reported by several news agencies before a press conference that both sides had announced for 10:30 am.

The GDL ended its third and so far longest strike in this collective bargaining round on Tuesday last week.

However, the union threatened to start preparing for the next labor dispute earlier this week if corporate management did not submit an improved offer by then.

At the weekend, the railway actually made a new offer, which the union examined in the days that followed.

In addition to wage issues, the wage dispute also concerns the status of the GDL within the company.
