Agrotop, one of the leaders in Israel in the field of construction of industrial and logistics projects, has begun to establish a complex project, which will house the most advanced catering plant in the State of Israel and provide food to most foreign airlines.

The huge kitchen was built for the local branch of the international catering company Newst.

35,000 meals a day

More than NIS 100 million will be invested in the construction of the innovative plant and its completion is expected to be completed in a record time of only 18 months.

The state-of-the-art food plant, with an area of ​​about 10,000 square meters, will be the most modern of its kind in Israel and will use innovative technologies, advanced processes and means for energy conservation and will be able to provide up to 35,000 meals a day.

30,000 workers in 52 countries

The global catering corporation Newst, was established 27 years ago in Toulouse, France and the company employs over 30,000 people in 52 countries and provides catering services to airlines, trains, institutions and remote sites.

The company is one of the largest aviation catering companies in the world and produces over a million meals a day.



The Israeli branch of Newest (formerly, ISS Aviation Catering Services), established in 1963, was acquired by the French company about two and a half years ago.



The company employs 400 people in Israel and produces 12,000 meals a day.

Newst began organizing for the tender, which was conducted by Waxman, Govrin, Geva about four years ago.


A number of companies approached the published contractors' tender and after a lengthy examination process, Agrotop was chosen to lead the project.

Will pass to the Airports Authority in 24 years

The plans, presented by Newst Israel, have been adjusted according to the requirements of a special team of the global architecture and projects department of Newst Israel.

"The company operates 56 kitchens all over the world and they all look very similar," says Glazer.

"They all have a uniform flow structure, the same colors and materials are used."



The construction of the plant is expected to be completed at the end of August 2022. The plant, designed by Hawk Architects, floated and built on pillars and received approval from World Newest and the Airports Authority.

300 different menus daily

"This is a very complex project, because we put out about 300 different menus every day," Glazer notes.

"In our kitchen you will find over 100,000 items, since each airline has its own cutlery and cups.

According to Glazer, Nurest's power has allowed the company to embark on the project despite the spread of the corona virus and the international aviation shutdown."
