A joint technical team from the Ministry of Oil and Mineral Resources and the Lebanese Ministry of Energy began today to explore the Arab Gas Pipeline, starting from the Dabousiyah station on the Syrian-Lebanese border and ending with the Deir Ammar station in Lebanon.
It is expected, according to a ministry statement, that SANA received a copy of, that the team will complete its work tomorrow and issue its report on the technical readiness of the line on the Lebanese side.
The oil and energy ministers of Syria, Jordan, Egypt and Lebanon agreed in a meeting held in the Jordanian capital, Amman, on the eighth of this month, on a road map for supplying Lebanon with Egyptian gas.
Syria had earlier agreed to the Lebanese side's request for assistance in passing Egyptian gas and Jordanian electricity through Syrian territory to Lebanon, during a session of Syrian-Lebanese talks held in Damascus.
