No more production in China.
Soon all Malongo espresso machines will be made in France.
The Nice roaster will offer a pod machine designed by itself and assembled in Vendée by a partner.
This production will gradually replace Asian production, a few series of which have yet to be delivered.
“60% of the machine's added value is French, which allows us to display a guaranteed French Origin brand. It is the result of three years of R&D to achieve a machine whose cost price is equivalent to that of our machine made in China, ”
explains Jean-Pierre Blanc, the boss of Malongo. Responding to the name of Eoh, his new machine is 100% repairable. Instead of 140 pieces, it is thus composed of only 70 pieces.
“Each coffee machine is guaranteed for 5 years. If the consumer encounters a problem, he will only have to scan a QR Code and a delivery person will bring him a new one by taking the old one ”
, explains Jean-Pierre Blanc, whose engineers have already worked on the recyclability of the components. .
While these machines will be sold at the recommended price of 119.90 euros, when Nespresso offers one for 1 euro for a monthly coffee subscription, Malongo retorts: “
Our pods are among the cheapest on the market.
In addition, it is important for us to respect the entire value chain which also passes through the distributor ”
.
Malongo sells around 100,000 coffee machines and some 300 million pods each year, 66% of which are certified organic and / or fair trade.
