A delegation of Yemeni businessmen specialized in food industries discussed with the board of directors of the Damascus Chamber of Industry and a number of owners of Syrian food industrial establishments, during their meeting today at the Chamber's headquarters, ways of cooperation between the two sides and exporting food products to Yemeni markets.

The commercial attaché of the Yemeni embassy in Damascus, Muhammad Hamid Omar, head of the delegation, stressed on benefiting from the experience of the advanced Syrian food industries to overcome the obstacles that hinder food manufacturing operations in Yemen and to develop this industry in light of the unjust siege suffered by the two brotherly countries.

The delegation members demanded that the Syrian product be put on the Yemeni market and offered a project to set up a permanent exhibition of Syrian products in which franchisees and agents of Syrian companies would participate in the Yemeni capital, Sana'a, as a center for Syrian products, so that Syrian products in the Yemeni market would be competitive with their counterparts from neighboring countries.

For his part, a member of the Board of Directors of the Damascus and Rural Chamber of Industry, head of the food sector in the chamber, Talal Qalaji, called for holding direct meetings between Yemeni businessmen and owners of Syrian industrial establishments, to visit these facilities, to see Syrian products and to conclude deals directly, as well as to visit the “Made in Syria” shopping festival. It is currently located in the old fairgrounds, in which major national food industrial companies are participating in order to get acquainted with their products.

During the meeting, the two sides also discussed the issue of the facilities provided by the Yemeni side to bring Syrian goods and shipping methods into Yemen and the quality of Yemeni goods and agricultural products that can be imported to Syria. .
