The latter will ask the next Paris Council, which begins on October 12, to "
provide additional support for a month
" to restaurateurs, which represents an additional effort of around 2 million euros for the City, indicated Olivia Polski.
Restaurant owners have been exempt from road charges for their terraces - classic or ephemeral - since the first confinement in spring 2020, a measure that the City figures at 44 million euros over the two years.
A difficult summer
Faced with the start of a controversy over the end of this aid on June 30, 2021 for a sector hard hit by the crisis, Anne Hidalgo had extended them until the end of September.

", said the assistant, highlighting "
a drop in attendance
" in August with Parisians gone on vacation, tourists not yet returned and the installation of the health pass, compulsory inside and on the terrace.

, another measure taken by the left-wing municipality during the health crisis - to be compared to the nearly 15,000 classic pre-crisis terraces in the capital - “

” is the subject of a renewal request, said Olivia Polski, reporting about 7,500 requests for parking spaces, plots or pedestrian paths. Among these, more than 1,200 requests concern the extension of annual terraces on parking spaces, which must have neither heating nor a hard roof.
The summer terraces will have to be removed on November 1 in accordance with the new municipal by-law which provides for their return each year from April 1 to October 31.
Since the entry into force of the new by-law in July, more than 2,000 verbalizations have been made by municipal officials, said the deputy, including about 450 for noise pollution.
These extensions are open until 10 p.m., unlike traditional terraces, which can receive customers until 2 a.m.
The other verbalizations mainly relate to "
congestion of public space
", the lack of accessibility or abandoned terraces, according to the same source.
