Ami Nagata did not wait for the pandemic to reach La Défense by bicycle.
Since 2019, this auto and motorcycle insurance product manager at Allianz France has decided to give up the metro.
“It's always saturated at peak times and can't breathe,”
she says.
She explains how good pedaling is for her with the possibility of starting the day outdoors and ending it with stress relieving.
“I play sports at the same time as I admire the city.
"
With the health crisis, cycling has become furiously trendy.
Cyclist traffic recorded on the Neuilly bridge, at the foot of the business district, has increased tenfold.
“We have gone from 600 cyclists before the health crisis to more than 6,000 today
,” underlines David Guerra, co-director of urban services at Paris La Défense (PLD).
This is not a flash in the pan, we are in the presence of a lasting increase.
