Driven by the scarcity of new cars available and their high prices, the second-hand market is on the rise.
In France, over the first eight months of the year, more than 4 million used passenger cars were sold (compared to 1.26 million new cars!).
“The year 2021 is exceptional, even compared to 2019,
notes Marie-Laure Nivot, from AAA Data, who analyzes registration data in France.
The second-hand market, like the new one, takes into account the lack of supply. "
Its size and margins are attracting new investors.
And used vehicle reconditioning factories are benefiting.

A few days ago, two French players in the automotive world, the Emil Frey concession group (250 points of sale in France) and BCAuto Enchères, a used vehicle sales platform for professionals, announced the opening of a series of reconditioning centers which will be spread over the major French regions.
