Customers have taken on new habits.
Perhaps influenced by rising fuel prices, they visit their shopping center less often.
In September, attendance was down sharply compared to 2019. But visitors are buying more, and the average basket is much higher.
“It's a good thing for the environment,”
says Jacques Ehrmann.
Some shopping center tenants seem overwhelmed by this good news, unexpected after the disappointing summer sales.
Their current concerns are too low stocks, supply difficulties and difficulties in recruiting.
