The sales of the General Company for Chemical Industries and Paints “Umayya” from the beginning of this year until the end of last September exceeded 4.7 billion Syrian pounds, an increase of 155 percent over last year, with the value of production for the same period reaching more than 6 billion pounds, an increase of 196 percent over the year 2020.
According to the production and marketing report of the company, of which SANA obtained a copy, the company’s production varied during the aforementioned period between 82,000 gallons of industrial oil paints, of which 73,133,000 gallons of plastic paints and 76,000 gallons of secondary products were sold.
As for sales, they were distributed between 73,000 gallons of oil paints, 117,000 gallons of plastic paints, and 76,000 gallons of secondary products, as the percentage of sales plan implementation reached 203 percent.
The general manager of the chemical company, Mazen Al-Boutros, noted, in a statement to SANA’s representative, the company’s role in maintaining the reputation of its well-known products in the local market despite all the difficulties, especially in terms of their conformity with the Syrian standard specifications and their competitive prices, stressing that the company is able to produce larger quantities in the event of requests for enlistment on any of the its products with the availability of sufficient raw materials.
