The United States on Monday called for the
"immediate reestablishment"
of the civilian government overthrown by the military in Sudan, and announced the suspension of significant financial assistance of 700 million dollars to the Sudanese transition.

"Military officials must immediately release all political actors and guarantee their safety,"
said US diplomacy spokesman Ned Price, also asking not to
"resort to violence against demonstrators"
and particularly not to use live bullets.
"The transitional government led by civilians must be re-established immediately, they represent the will of the people,"
he added.
"In light of these developments, the United States is suspending"
assistance of 700 million dollars devoted to the democratic transition, he said.
"We are suspending this entire amount."
