The drivers of the Transdev bus network in the agglomeration of Melun (Seine-et-Marne) ended an eight-week strike on Tuesday following an agreement between unions and management, AFP learned from the various parts.

The 36 Transdev bus lines in the Melun region, city-prefecture of this Ile-de-France department, had been severely disrupted for two months due to a social movement of drivers. The latter denounced the new organization put in place by Transdev in Ile-de-France, as part of the opening up to competition of the Optile bus network (middle and greater suburbs of the Paris region). Following a new conciliation meeting, management and unions signed a memorandum of understanding on Tuesday evening which paves the way for a return to normal service from Thursday.
