Officials of the commercial department at the Syrian pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai organized a workshop for the food industries, in the presence of representatives from the pavilions of Poland, Cuba, Mexico, and the Foreign Direct Investment Corporation in Dubai, with the aim of establishing joint programs that contribute to


attracting direct investments and developing business and providing an opportunity for participating officials to support the Syrian economy.

The workshop included the participation of Duck Foods, West Al Kul, Syrian Nawaqa and Syrian Olive Oil, where each of them presented a video and presentation on the products being offered in the market and what their plans are to start the process of exporting and selling them in the UAE food market.

Commenting on the workshop, the commercial coordinator of the private sector in the Syrian pavilion, Manaf Arnous, pointed out that the food industry is one of the oldest industries known to mankind due to the urgent need of people for food, pointing to the ancient food industry in Syria and its fame, such as food vegetable dryers, oils, flour, its accessories and sweets, which are still It is so famous that it was called in some countries the Levantine sweets.

And Arnous indicated that Expo 2020 Dubai allowed the joining of national companies whose products are of high quality and highly competitive, which allows them to promote and market their products, learn about the various products, raw materials, machinery and equipment included in the exhibition, and introduce technical developments in the world of the food industry and the packaging system.

It is noteworthy that the workshop comes within a series of workshops organized by the Syrian wing with the aim of focusing on the reality of food industries and the challenges facing this industry and ways to convert them into opportunities and the extent of the impact of contract farming in improving the reality of farms and industrial and its reflection on the consumer and agricultural integration with food industries and export food industries and attracting investments Especially in the food industry and the role of industrial regions and cities in this.

In a related context, a high-level Emirati delegation headed by Sheikh Muslim Salem bin Ham Al Ameri, member of the National Consultative Council of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee, visited Syria's pavilion in the exhibition.

The delegation members, accompanied by Syrian Ambassador to the UAE Dr. Ghassan Abbas, toured the various sections of the pavilion and reviewed with exhibitors and participating companies the economic and commercial opportunities and opportunities for cooperation between the two countries.

The visit comes within the framework of developing trade and economic relations between Syria and the United Arab Emirates, following a meeting between the two countries' economy ministers on the sidelines of the opening of Expo 2020 Dubai on the third of this month.

At the end of the meeting, it was agreed to coordinate to hold bilateral meetings with some of the participating companies in order to reach commercial understandings.
