Counterfeiting industry in all categories

The counterfeit industry is mainly based on the popular products that most of us like: clothes from famous brands such as Lacoste, Adidas, Puma, Nike and the like, fake shoes, jewelry, and more.

The counterfeiting industry has penetrated many areas in recent years, and today we also see counterfeit brands in cosmetics (MAC, REVLON), electronic products, and more.

You could say that everything that succeeds and has a demand - fakes.

Engaging in counterfeiting (manufacturing, importing, marketing, distributing, selling, advertising, etc.) constitutes both criminal offenses including: "trademark infringement", "copyright infringement" and civil wrongs including: "trademark infringement", "plagiarism", "Copyright Infringement", "Misleading the Consumer", "Making Wealth" and more.

Life-threatening components and components

The dangers and health consequences for consumers who buy counterfeit products are great. Here is a list of the most popular counterfeit products that Israelis buy and thus endanger themselves:

Spare parts and components for vehicles

: These are products that are intended for use in vehicles, which requires compliance with extremely high safety standards, while the components and materials from which the counterfeits are made are of poor quality. Passengers and pedestrians.

Cosmetic products

: The fakes contain cheap substances that do not meet standards and requirements, are manufactured in poor conditions and can damage the skin and cause allergies from its mild state to a severe allergic reaction.

Liquor:

A counterfeit product of this type is in fact the filling of original bottles of well-known liquor (such as "Shibbs Regal" whiskey "Absolut" vodka), in a drink that bears no resemblance to the taste of the original drink and is mixed with water and sometimes even contaminated or made of dangerous substances.

Toys

: Danger of use by children (danger of swallowing small parts), toxic substances and colors. The toys are not manufactured to the strictest standards as the original products are manufactured and do not meet the Standards Institute standards, which may cause suffocation and other safety hazards.

Medications

: Yes, medicines are also counterfeit. These are substances that we put into our body, and when the consumer swallows a counterfeit drug he does not know what he is putting into his body, who manufactured the drug and under what conditions. The danger is obvious, the forgeries not only do not meet the need and treat the problem but can also be harmful to health.

Clothing and clothing products:

Fake products of this type are usually of inferior finish quality, with a short lifespan of the garment, sometimes alongside defects.

So how do you identify a counterfeit product?

Kournik explains that there are several ways:

First, the price of the product can be an indication that the product is counterfeit. Second, the site from which one is purchasing is also an indication. Obviously, products sold on unfamiliar sites or through links to sites that are known to sell counterfeit products (mostly clothing but also cosmetics, toys and more) are usually counterfeit.

In well-known and reputable chains, the chance of finding counterfeit products is smaller, but it does exist (sometimes counterfeit products are sold without the store owners being aware of it).

Adv. Kournik adds that even products that you have received without an importer label should arouse suspicion. Therefore, it is advisable to purchase products from the official distributors / importers, as much as possible (obviously not every consumer knows who the authorized distributor of the product is).

If it is a product that the consumer has already purchased in the past, and when he receives the product he notices the difference in product quality, low level of finish, caption on the product (sometimes spelling mistakes can be found), the familiar logo different from the original, differences from an original product purchased in the past.

Advocate Kournik adds that “a consumer will not always be able to find out that this is a counterfeit product.

Sometimes, when the counterfeit is at a high level and very similar to the original, the consumer will only discover it in retrospect. "
