Oil prices continued to rise, and rose today by more than two percent, after the producers of (OPEC Plus) rejected calls to pump the largest quantities of it.
Reuters reported that Brent crude rose $1.73, or 2.2 percent, to $82.27 a barrel.
US West Texas Intermediate crude rose 2.08 cents, or 2.6 percent, to $80.89.
And (OPEC Plus) agreed in yesterday's meeting to maintain plans to increase oil production by 400,000 barrels per day as of next December, rejecting US President Joe Biden's call to increase supplies to curb the rise in prices.
