Alexey Kudrin, head of the Russian Accounts Chamber, said that the total losses of the global economy from the Corona virus pandemic are estimated at 10 trillion dollars.
The TASS news agency quoted Kudrin as saying today in a video address to the participants of the third BRICS International Municipal Forum: The bulk of these losses represent in particular the budgets of regions and municipalities, adding: Health systems around the world have shown their lack of preparedness for the epidemic.
Alexey noted that health and social support systems have shown their unpreparedness for global shocks and that the task of government bodies and supervisory agencies is to formulate mechanisms that will enable these systems to become more stable and efficient.
Infections with the emerging coronavirus around the world have exceeded 250 million and 210 thousand since its outbreak began in December 2019, according to the latest statistics from the American World Meters website.
