In addition to the measures dedicated to Covid-19, Emmanuel Macron unveiled, this Tuesday evening during his speech, a measure concerning employment with an evolution of unemployment insurance.
“As of December 1, it will be necessary to have worked at least six months in the last two years to be able to be compensated”, instead of four, explained Emmanuel Macron.
The President of the Republic also called for a strengthening of checks on the unemployed.
"Pôle emploi will review" the positions that do not find takers, announced Emmanuel Macron.
"Job seekers without active job search will see their benefits suspended," he added.
Emmanuel Macron is benefiting from an improvement in terms of employment.
The number of unemployed in metropolitan France had fallen by 5.8% in the last quarter and by 10% over one year (in category A).
Over one year, French unemployment, strongly affected by the Covid-19 crisis, will have fallen by more than 10%.
Young people are particularly affected by this decline, with a -14.8% variation recorded in one quarter.
A smaller trend the older we get, since the drop was only -4.9% for people over 50 years old.
