EDF "is delighted" and stands "ready", the day after the announcements of President Emmanuel Macron, who said that France was going to relaunch a nuclear program, its CEO, Jean-Bernard Lévy said on Wednesday.

"EDF sincerely welcomes the statement by the President of the Republic, Mr. Macron, on television last night on the relaunch of new nuclear power plants in France," he said.
The president announced on Tuesday that France was going to relaunch a nuclear program and build new reactors on its soil, however postponing details of these future EPRs until later.

"We are now awaiting more details from the French government on this announcement," said Xavier Girre, chief financial officer of the EDF group, during a conference on the company's results.

"The president will have the opportunity to speak in the coming weeks on this subject to give details both of a technical nature - the type of reactor - and of schedule", indicated for his part Gabriel Attal, government spokesperson, on Franceinfo.
