A nationwide 3G rule at the workplace is taking on more and more concrete forms: The Federal Ministry of Labor wants to soon make it possible for people to go to work only who have been vaccinated or have recovered.

This is based on a draft law amendment that the Reuters news agency has received.

This does not apply to short-term contacts that take place outdoors "and do not last longer than ten minutes each working day," the paper says.

Employers should monitor compliance through verification checks.

The regulation is to be limited to March 19, 2022.

Important detailed questions still need to be clarified

The ministry's proposed wording is currently being discussed in the federal government and advised by experts from the parliamentary groups.

Numerous details such as the assumption of costs for tests and their frequency have not yet been clarified in detail and should be coordinated next week.

It is also said that it is not yet clear how violations will be punished.

The plans of the traffic light coalition became known on Monday when a letter from SPD parliamentary deputy Dirk Wiese to the SPD deputies became public.
