In view of the high and increasing numbers of corona infections, the Monika Schnitzer economy has advised companies to cancel large Christmas parties.
"In the current situation, I don't think big Christmas celebrations are appropriate," said the economist, who is a member of the Advisory Council for assessing macroeconomic developments, in the newspapers of the Funke media group.
Instead, the 2G rule would be a consideration for "small celebrations".
In general, the business expert also considers the 2G rule, to which only vaccinated and convalescent people have access, to be "useful" in many companies.
However, this now requires the booster vaccination.
The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) had previously recommended that larger events be canceled.
»That unsettles many«
In principle, employers should also be able to know the vaccination status of their employees, said Schnitzer.
"It is incomprehensible that you can send employees to customers who require such evidence, while the employer is not allowed to ask for it." In addition, many people would have to share an office with colleagues without knowing whether they are vaccinated.
"That unsettles many."
The Bundestag launched a law for new corona measures on Thursday.
The draft by the SPD, Greens and FDP provides that certain measures such as the mask requirement and distance requirements will continue to apply even after the epidemic has expired, which have national implications.
The three traffic light parties also want to add further points in the upcoming parliamentary deliberations - such as the 3G rule in the workplace, which also allows tested people.
