The Ministry of Oil and Mineral Resources announced the start of mobilizing gasoline and diesel fuel from outside the allocations through the electronic card, starting today, at the stations that were previously identified in the governorates.
Yesterday, the Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection set the selling price of diesel and octane 90 gasoline, distributed outside the allocations and through the electronic card for mechanisms and vehicles, at 1,700 Syrian pounds per liter of diesel and 2500 pounds per liter of gasoline and in the amount of 40 liters per month for both materials, while continuing to work on the prices set for the sale of 95-octane gasoline. And octane 90 and in the previously specified quantity and selling prices of diesel fuel distributed through the electronic card.
The General Director of the Syrian Company for the Storage and Distribution of Petroleum Products, Engineer Ahmed Al-Shammat, confirmed in a statement to SANA that the specified fuel stations began filling today for special vehicles operating on gasoline and diesel, with the exception of vehicles for transporting people and goods, i.e. taxis and mass transport within and between governorates, motorcycles and agricultural equipment, because they get Specific allocations from the traffic committees in the governorates on the electronic card, according to the mechanism of its movement, and in order not to increase the ride tariff for citizens.
Al-Shammat explained that there are multiple options for those wishing to benefit from this service, as it is possible to fill the entire quantity of 40 liters at once or in several batches during the month and from one or several stations designated for this purpose, pointing out that this service will lead to a reduction in the phenomenon of selling these two The two substances are on the black market by securing additional needs.
And about the possibility of increasing the quantity later, between Al-Shammat, that this matter is possible if supplies increase and additional quantities of gasoline and diesel are available, noting that the current conditions and the rise in global oil prices and the increasing demand for the material and the additional costs of supplies arriving in Syria as a result of the unjust siege imposed on the Syrian people have had a significant impact. on the quantities supplied.
Regarding the presence of parked vehicles whose owners benefit from the allocations of gasoline and diesel, the Director General of a fuel company confirmed that the Ministry of Oil has contracted with a company on a project to track the movement of vehicles (GPS), through which the quantity will be controlled according to the movement of the mechanism, which will significantly limit the presence of the substance in Black market.
A number of citizens whom SANA met at one of the gas stations designated for selling gasoline and diesel from outside the allocations via the electronic card in Damascus expressed their satisfaction with this procedure, as it made them dispense with resorting to the black market, where the two substances are sold at exorbitant prices and without any control over their quality.
They noted the facilities for filling, as it is possible to obtain the full quantity or part of it at any time during the month and from any of the specified stations, expressing their hope to increase the quantity in the future and expand the number of gas stations designated for this purpose and distribute them geographically appropriately.
