A man was killed on Sunday in southern Sardinia following heavy rains, while weather damage already exceeds two billion euros in 2021, according to an agricultural union.

Firefighters announced on Twitter in the morning that they were looking for an elderly man in southern Sardinia who had abandoned his car blocked by very heavy rains, before his body was found in the afternoon, probably washed away by a flood.
At the same time La Coldiretti, one of the main agricultural unions on the peninsula announced on Sunday that climate change had already caused more than two billion euros in damage in the Italian countryside this year.

" between floods, tornadoes, hail, frost and heat waves, "
