Within the framework of the activities of the Syrian delegation participating in the activities of the National Day of Syria at the Expo 2020 Dubai, a business briefing meeting dedicated to the economic aspect was held under the title “Syria is the gateway that connects everyone.”
During the meeting, the Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade, Dr. Muhammad Samer Al-Khalil gave a special presentation on Investment Law No. 18 of 2021 and its most important advantages, incentives and guarantees. He also touched on some points that would encourage investment in Syria, reviewing some important investment opportunities, especially in the areas of development. Real estate, energy, industry and tourism.
The Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Dr. Ayman Sousan, also gave a presentation on the economic policy in the reconstruction phase, reviewing its role during the current and future phase.
After the two presentations, an open dialogue session was held with the audience, whose number exceeded 100 people, representing a wide and important segment in the sectors of industry, trade and tourism in both Syria and the UAE. During the session, interventions were made, some questions were asked and answered, which contributes to enriching the economic dialogue in its commercial and investment aspects.
The business briefing and dialogue session were attended by Chargé d'Affairs of the Syrian Embassy in the UAE, Dr. Ghassan Abbas, the Assistant Minister of Tourism, Nidal Mashfaj, and the Syrian Consul General in Dubai, Kinan Zahreddine, in addition to representatives of the UAE Ministry of Economy.
