In Great Britain, the retail chain Tesco triggered a wave of protests with a commercial.
In addition to all sorts of quirky details, the short film also shows a Santa Claus holding up a vaccination certificate.
Numerous opponents of the vaccination promptly felt that they were "coerced" and "discriminated" - 1,500 of them filed a complaint with the advertising supervisory authority.
In one scene in the clip entitled "This Christmas, Nothing's Stopping Us," a reporter on television comes up with a breaking news that "Santa Claus could be quarantined."
But he presents his Covid passport at the border control and can pass unhindered.
The message behind it: Those who are vaccinated can enter the country without restrictions.
The sensitive souls of those who oppose the vaccination seem to be in agony because of this.
They feared that the commercial was promoting medical discrimination.
Activists called on social media under the hashtag #BoycottTesco to avoid the company in the future.
Other online users, on the other hand, praise the chain for the advertising campaign.
For example, a Twitter user quipped: “I'm going to Tesco now, knowing that all those who oppose vaccination have decided to boycott Tesco.
Thank you for doing your part to make sure we are all safe.
Stay at home."
