Representatives of the Russian side made a presentation on the system of preferences granted to Syrian goods exported to the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, while the Russian Chambers of Industry and Commerce presented Russian experiences in the field of creating an electronic database for electronic verification of certificates of origin. The two sides discussed the possibility of establishing this system called Form A.

Deputy Director of International Cooperation of Russian Customs Vladimir Viktorovich explained in a statement to SANA delegate that more than

60 percent of Syrian goods exported to the Russian Federation are currently exempt from customs duties, and soon all these exported goods will be exempt from customs duties in agreement between the Russian and Syrian sides, pointing out that the road map signed yesterday between the two sides aims to clarify the steps to benefit from the applicable green corridor system. The Russian customs have to provide facilities for Syrian companies and their products exported to Russia and to ensure their access to foreign markets.

In a similar statement, the Director of Relations at the General Customs Directorate, Safaa Ibrahim, indicated that according to the road map signed between the two sides, a number of exporters and companies will be approved in the future in the pilot phase as an experiment.

Preliminary to work and benefit from the Russian customs green corridor system to spread this experience later, after its success, to all companies exporting their goods to the Russian Federation.

Yesterday, the Syrian and Russian customs directorates signed a roadmap for joint customs cooperation with the aim of promoting trade and facilitating the movement of goods between the two sides, and an action plan in the field of combating smuggling and customs crimes, as part of the work program of the joint Syrian-Russian meeting to follow up on the work of the international conference on the return of refugees.
