Within the activities of the joint Syrian-Russian meeting to follow up on the work of the international conference on the return of Syrian refugees, Engineer Bassam Parasik, Governor of Homs, discussed with a Russian delegation today, represented by Honcharov Andrei Vladimir Fisch, Minister of Industry and Foreign Trade in Novo Sibirsk Province, ways to develop cooperation relations between the two sides in various fields.

During the meeting, which was held in the governorate building, mechanisms of scientific cooperation between the two sides were presented, stressing the necessity of activating the exchange of visits for business delegations interested in trade exchange and exchanging commercial information between the two sides through activating communication between chambers of commerce, information centers and institutions supporting the economic business sector in both countries and working on Promoting the products of Syrian companies interested in entering the Russian market and Russian companies interested in entering the Syrian market, by holding local exhibitions in both countries and publishing data of companies interested in entering the Russian market or Russian companies interested in entering the Syrian market.

The agricultural situation in Homs and proposals for cooperation in the field of vaccines, chemical and organic fertilizers, etc. were also reviewed. A presentation was also made on the Hassya Industrial City, the importance of investing in it, and the orientation of investors and businessmen to invest in alternative energy.

In a statement to reporters, the Governor of Homs indicated that the meeting included informing the Russian delegation of the existing investment opportunities and the advantages provided by the new Investment Law No. 18 of 2021. Investment opportunities in the industrial city in the field of electricity generation through alternative energy and agricultural products produced by the province were presented, in addition to investment projects other.

He also stressed that increasing trade exchange is one of the proposed topics, setting up local exhibitions in both countries, and exchanging visits of journalists to inform each side of the products available on the other side, in addition to tourism exchange and investment in agriculture and industry.

In turn, Hancharov Andrei Vladimir Fisch confirmed that the meeting included an explanation of some investment laws that encourage foreign investors to invest in the industrial city of Hasya, pointing out that what was presented during the presentation was good, especially in the field of investment in alternative energies, wind or sun, in terms of land and location concessions.

And he indicated that the second phase after this visit will include providing explanations to Russian businessmen about the grants offered for these investments in Homs, stressing that the economic relations between the two countries are the culmination of the deep-rooted historical and political relations between them.

After that, the delegation visited Al-Basel Hospital in Karm Al-Lawz and provided a generator, oxygen generators, and humanitarian aid.

Nawal Radwan, Head of the Nursing Division at the hospital, pointed out the importance of the support provided by the Russian delegation, which will contribute to improving work, especially in light of the Corona pandemic.

In turn, Alexei Panopik, a member of the Russian delegation, stressed that providing humanitarian aid is part of their work within the conference.

Before the meeting, the delegation had visited the villages of Khirbet Al-Hamam and Al-Dardariya in Homs countryside and provided humanitarian aid in both villages.
