Raised on a family farm in Haute-Savoie, this cow perfectly illustrates the Abondance breed, explain the organizers of the Show. Race whose milk is transformed into reblochon, tomme and raclette.

Neige, a four-year-old Abondance cow, raised on a family farm in Haute-Savoie, will be the face of the next Paris Agricultural Show from February 26 to March 6, the organizers announced on Tuesday.

After an abridged 2020 edition, the 2021 edition of this annual high mass popular with politicians and the general public could not take place due to the health crisis.

The Show is getting ready ... The indicators are green.

On the exhibitor side, 85% have already registered for four months of the event!

As for the general public, when they want, they come back ... This edition of the reunion is eagerly awaited.

I am confident the visitors will be there,

”said the president of the show, Jean-Luc Poulain, quoted in a press release.

Presidential campaign

The show usually attracts around 500,000 Porte de Versailles visitors.

This time, it will be held a little over a month before the first round of the presidential election (April 10, 2022).

A dairy cow will be the headliner of the event: Neige, whose milk is transformed into reblochon, tomme and raclette on a farm in Grand-Bornand (Haute-Savoie).

If Neige was selected to represent the breed and appear on the poster for the 2022 edition of the Show, it is because it perfectly illustrates the Abondance breed: a red-mahogany magpie dress, a head with a thick bun white, clear horns and red spots in the shape of glasses around the eyes to attenuate the glare of the sun and thus make it perfectly adapted to the mountain environment

”, write the organizers.

I transform the milk from my cows into farm-produced cheeses, right through to the ripening and direct sale of my products.

What could be more satisfying than managing all the stages in the production of my 200 daily Reblochons.

A profession that I can't wait to share at the Show,

”underlines the breeder, Philippe Missillier.

Today, four generations cohabit on the 65 hectare farm where 47 cows produce quality milk which is then transformed from A to Z directly on the farm into farmer Reblochon, Tomme and Raclette by the breeder, his son Arnaud and his daughter-in-law Pauline

”, it is further clarified.
