Official data revealed that inflation in Britain rose to its highest level in ten years last October, in light of a jump in household payments in the energy sector, supporting expectations that the Bank of England will raise interest rates next month.
Reuters reported that consumer prices rose 4.2 percent on an annual basis last October, up from 3.1 percent in September.
Last month, the international credit rating agency, Fitch, expected the British consumer price index (inflation) to rise sharply in the next six months due to the rise in global energy and commodity prices.
