A Russian delegation headed by the Commissioner-General of the Russian Pavilion and Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Alexei Guzdev visited the Syrian pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai and toured its departments.

The Russian delegation was received by Syria's Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates Dr. Ghassan Abbas, Commissioner-General of the Syrian Pavilion and Director of the Pavilion, Eng. Khaled Al-Shama'a, and a number of Syrian workers and volunteers who introduced the guests to the pavilion's sections that reflect the history and heritage of the ancient civilizations that followed on Syrian soil.

The members of the visiting delegation were briefed on the pavilion’s various artistic and cultural exhibits, from the first alphabet to the room designated for listening to the oldest musical notations in history, and they expressed great admiration for the collective art exhibition hosted by the pavilion under the title “I am the Syrian,” where each plate represented a part of Syria.

Guzdev described the Syrian pavilion as “wonderful, very expressive and touching hearts,” and said, “I discovered many things in the pavilion that show the extent of dedication and sincerity to Syria, its history and its heritage, and how it was presented to visitors,” noting the creativity of Syrian painters.

During the visit, it was agreed between the general commissioners of the two wings to organize a workshop for businessmen in both wings to learn about opportunities for trade and economic cooperation.

This visit comes in light of great international interest in the Syrian participation in the Expo 2020 Dubai, where delegations and representatives of many countries and organizations participating or visiting the exhibition visited the Syrian pavilion.

In addition to introducing the Syrian culture and arts, the Syrian pavilion’s work team, in cooperation with the pavilion’s trading partners from major Syrian companies in various sectors, organizes periodic business meetings with Arab and international delegations with the aim of developing trade and economic relations with global partners.
