In the large alleys lined with apple and plum trees on their farm, Benoît Chauvet and his father are rather smiling on this sunny Tuesday in mid-November. A few days before the Pink Lady harvest ends the 2021 apple campaign - on November 25 - these growers who are also maturing Royal Gala and Granny Smith are doing their accounts. Based in Noves, a small village between Avignon and Cavaillon, the arborist family for five generations, at the head of a 25 hectare farm well equipped against extreme climatic hazards, has managed to preserve 90% of its production after the violent frost episode in early April. On their plots, the farmers also had the chance to endure only two nights at extreme temperatures.

However, a few hectares further, their neighbor deplores 80% losses.
