Damascus-SANA
The Ministry of Communications and Technology launched the “Syrian Reliability for Software Companies” with the aim of supporting the national software industry in the Syrian market.
The reliability also aims to raise the capabilities of the national software companies "human, administrative and technical" to provide professional software of high quality.
In a statement, which SANA received a copy of, the ministry explained that reliability contributes to meeting the increasing demand for professional software and thus addressing the problems of implementing and receiving government information projects, in addition to its role in providing new job opportunities in this field.
The ministry indicated that the mentioned reliability is based on the model adopted in all countries of the world "CMMI", which is a standard method for evaluating and developing the capabilities and performance of companies.
The ministry indicated that reliability is currently limited to the second maturity level of the international model, and that it will work to introduce higher levels after a while, explaining that software companies wishing to obtain reliability are required to develop their capabilities and then submit to an objective standard test carried out by a team headed by an expert accredited by the ministry and then raise the team leader The test results are submitted to the Ministry for verification and after the test is successfully passed, the company is granted accreditation and is registered in a special register on the official website of the Ministry.
Director of Technical Development in the Ministry, Engineer Osama Ahmed Bin, said in a statement to SANA that it is currently possible for companies wishing to register for accreditation according to the described mechanism and the conditions mentioned on the ministry’s website, indicating that the company is required, after accepting its registration, to draw up a development plan that includes the appropriate works for it to be compatible with the accreditation standard. The implementation of the plan usually takes from six months to a year, depending on the situation of each company.
