Purchase tax on e-cigarettes: Lieberman's new order
Smoking is harmful to health - and now it's also more expensive, even if you switched to e-cigarettes: liquid for e-cigarettes and disposable e-cigarettes will benefit from the tax rates imposed on "regular" smoking products.
E-cigarettes will also be exempt from the exemption on personal imports up to the amount of $ 75

The Minister of Finance, Avigdor Lieberman, signed the order imposing a purchase tax on liquid e-cigarettes and non-refillable e-cigarettes, which is equivalent in its rate to the tax imposed on other tobacco products.
The order is the result of a coordinated move between the Tax Authority and the Ministry of Health and aims to reduce the consumption of e-cigarettes that increase the risk of heart disease and respiratory diseases.
The order will take effect at midnight.
The order stipulates that a liquid for filling e-cigarettes will be subject to a purchase tax of 270% of the common wholesale price plus NIS 11.39 per ml, which in any case will not be less than NIS 21.81 per ml.
Disposable cigarettes will be subject to a purchase tax of 360% of the common wholesale price, which in any case will not be less than a new NIS 32.72 per ml.

Restrictions also on returnees from abroad
In addition, set limits on the amount of liquid electronic cigarette can lead to Israel from abroad without payment of purchase tax. These amounts equivalent amounts of regular cigarettes that can be brought into Israel without payment of tax.
Who stayed abroad less than 5 days can put up to 4 " to no more liquid than 2 disposable cigarette. who stayed longer than 5 days abroad, will be able to bring up to 10 ml liquid and less than 5 cigarettes disposable. the restrictions will take effect within two months from the date of signing the decree.
as Yes, the order stipulates that a purchase tax will be levied on the inventories held by wholesalers, in the amount of one new shekel per ml of liquid and 6 shekels for a disposable cigarette.
This tax will only apply to inventory for which the value of the tax paid is higher than NIS 10,000.
This move follows on from previous moves, which compared the taxation on tobacco for heating and rolling tobacco to the tax imposed on "regular" cigarettes and reflects the desire for uniform taxation on all tobacco products.
