President's Piece

This annual charity sale, the oldest and most famous in the world, serves as an international barometer for the prices of Burgundy wines, which have been rising steadily in recent years, due in particular to its export success.
The benefit of the “
president's coin
” is intended this year for “
Solidarité Femmes
”, an associative network to help victims of domestic violence, and to the Institut Curie, for research against breast cancer.
The rest of the sale traditionally goes to maintaining the heritage and modernizing the hospital equipment of this institution in the heart of Burgundy.

The 2021 vintage was complicated by the vagaries of the weather, with an expected volume of 900,000 to 950,000 hectoliters, against 1.56 million in 2020, according to the Interprofessional Bureau of Burgundy Wines (BIVB). Also, this year, only 349 "
