Geoffroy Roux de Bézieux considers that the decision taken by Belgium to make telework compulsory four days out of five everywhere

The return to widespread telework "would be a mistake".

In any case, this is the opinion of Medef opposed to this practice being made compulsory while encouraging business leaders to "re-mobilize" on the subject, its president Geoffroy Roux de Bézieux said on Tuesday.

"We must let the local social dialogue take place", declared the president of Medef on BFMTV / RMC, adding that "there are many companies which have signed agreements".

"Business leaders can remobilize themselves on teleworking, but no obligation", summed up the leader of the first French employers' organization.

He considers that the decision taken by Belgium in the face of the resurgence of the epidemic to make telework compulsory four days out of five wherever possible "is a mistake".

“Let's not overestimate the number of people who telecommute.

Only 20% of positions can be teleworked.

So it is not all the French, ”said Geoffroy Roux de Bézieux.

A "feeling of frustration"

According to Geoffroy Roux de Bézieux, teleworking "sometimes creates a feeling of incomprehension and frustration for those who cannot telework".

"I see a lot of industrial companies which ask their administrative executives not to telework in order to create a feeling of equality between those who are posted on the chain or elsewhere and those who can telework," he explained.

Finally, the president of Medef judges that “barrier gestures have been relaxed everywhere” and thus calls on companies to ensure compliance with “wearing a mask” and gauges in meetings in order to “avoid more restrictive measures”.
