The Central Bank of Syria Administration Committee announced, in a decision issued today, the approval of the replacement of more than 32 million Syrian pounds of distorted and damaged banknotes submitted by 107 citizens in a number of governorates.
According to the decision, which SANA received a copy of, the amounts authorized to be destroyed by the aforementioned citizens amounted to 35 million and 810 thousand pounds in the central branches in Damascus, Daraa, Hama, Homs, Sweida, Tartous, Lattakia and Aleppo. tearing, wear, dampness, washing and rodents.”
It is noteworthy that the committee also agreed last March to replace distorted and damaged banknotes based on the requests submitted by their owners, and to pay more than 18 million pounds for them.
