The 12th World Trade Organization (WTO) ministerial conference scheduled to be held next week in Geneva was postponed at the last minute on Friday as Europe grapples with the surge in Covid cases.

"The postponement has just been confirmed,"
a diplomatic source told AFP shortly after Switzerland announced travel restriction measures to deal with the appearance of the worrying Omicron variant of the virus giving the Covid- 19.
