Iraqi Minister of Industry Manhal Aziz Khabbaz stressed the importance of exchanging experiences and benefiting from the advanced Syrian experience in the field of cities and industrial zones and facilitating trade with them.
The Iraqi minister explained in a press statement after his arrival in Damascus today at the head of a delegation of businessmen, industrialists and officials of the industrial cities to participate in the fourth conference of the Arab Union of Cities and Industrial Zones, which will be launched in Damascus the day after tomorrow that Iraq's participation in this conference comes as a kind of integration between cities and regions. The Arab industrial sector and the conference are of great importance for Syria's return to the Arab embrace and a qualitative leap in Arab economic integration.
The Iraqi minister indicated that this participation will be effective and significant in bringing points of view, cooperation and exchange of experiences and opinions, noting the Syrian experiences in the field of cities and industrial zones, which contributes to exchanging experiences and developing the Iraqi experience in this field.
For his part, head of the Iraqi Federation of Industries, Adel Akab Al-Hussein, pointed out that participation in the conference enhances trade and industrial relations between Arab countries, especially Syria, while Hamid Awad Muhammad, head of the Iraqi Industrial Cities Authority, indicated that Syrian and Iraqi industrial investments are close, which facilitates cooperation between the two sides.
It is noteworthy that the Fourth Arab Conference, organized by the Arab Union of Arab Cities and Industrial Zones in Damascus next Monday at the Drama Rose Hotel, with wide Arab participation from elite investors, researchers and businessmen, includes working papers on Arab and local investment prospects.
