At almost 50 years old, the Renault factory in Douai is enjoying a second lease of life.
The arrival on its production line of the new electric Mégane, which symbolizes the technological and commercial offensive of the Losange, is the first achievement of ElectriCity, this tricolor center dedicated to the construction of electric vehicles in the north of France, which includes the factories of Douai, Maubeuge and Ruitz.
On the brand new assembly line inaugurated last January, Megane-E are still rare.
Some appear among the Scenics in short or long version and the Talisman that parade on the conveyor belt.
Today, twenty copies are assembled per day.
That is 10% of the daily production of the Douai plant.
It will be necessary to wait until the beginning of next year for them to be produced in series.
