Inflation in the United States accelerated during the past month compared to the same month last year, recording the largest increase since 1982, as large consumer demand collided with supply problems caused by the Corona epidemic.
According to the Consumer Price Index published by the US Department of Labor today and quoted by Agence France-Presse, the price increase amounted to 6.8% last month, compared to the same month last year, after recording an increase of 6.2% in October, which is in line with analyst expectations.
Compared to the previous month, the price increase in November registered a slight slowdown, as it rose by 0.8% compared to 0.9% in October. However, the increase remains higher than analysts' expectations, which indicates continued inflation.
