A few days before the Christmas holidays, this is a significant boost.

It is in the next few days that the exceptional energy check of 100 euros should arrive in the letterbox of some 5.8 million beneficiaries.

Faced with the exceptional rise in energy prices, in particular electricity and gas, Prime Minister Jean Castex had indeed announced, on September 15, his decision to award an exceptional energy check to the 5.8 million of French people with modest incomes who already benefit from it every year.

This aid will be paid out over the coming days: the checks will leave from December 13 to 22, depending on the geographic areas concerned.

To receive this bonus, there is nothing to do: all beneficiaries of the energy check are concerned, and will receive this extension by mail at their home - note that people who have chosen to automatically allocate their check to their supplier from December 22, by email or post, will receive confirmation of this operation.

To be used until March 2023

The first checks will leave this Monday, December 13 and, given the delivery times, will arrive at their destination two to four days later.

From December 13 to 17, letters will be sent from the regions of Auvergne - Rhône-Alpes, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, Brittany, Center-Val-de-Loire, Corsica, Grand-Est (except Bas-Rhin), Hauts-de -France, Île-de-France, Normandy, and Pays de la Loire, as well as those of the departments of Creuse, Corrèze, Deux-Sèvres or Overseas.

New Aquitaine, Bas-Rhin, the Occitanie and Paca regions will follow from December 20 to 22.

This exceptional check can be used until March 31, 2023.

The energy voucher, created in 2015 to replace social energy tariffs (such as the basic necessity tariff for electricity, for example), is intended for people with modest resources.

Each year, the tax administration establishes the list of beneficiaries according to the household's reference tax income and the composition of the household, determined in consumption units.

Traditionally sent in the spring, between the end of March and the end of April each year, it varies from 48 to 277 euros and makes it possible to cover part of the bills for electricity, gas, fuel oil, or even energy renovation work.
