Damascus-SANA
Manufacturers of electrical household appliances in Damascus and its countryside discussed ways to continue the work of their facilities, supply the local market with their products, export them, and overcome the obstacles they encounter in cooperation with the concerned government agencies.
During a meeting of the Household Electrical Appliances Committee in the Damascus Chamber of Industry and its countryside, the industrialists called for setting clear pricing mechanisms for locally produced electrical household appliances, extending the deadlines for submitting cost data from six months to a year, and examining the possibility of covering the values of imports of raw materials for these establishments from the foreign exchange earnings of their exports.
In a statement to SANA’s representative, Louay Nahlawi, the deputy head of the Damascus and Rural Chamber of Industry, confirmed that the chamber is working to facilitate the work of industrialists through its communication with the relevant authorities and is working to include household appliances products in the permanent export support program, in addition to following up on the re-examination of the executive instructions of Decree No. 8 for the year 2021 to reach the appropriate formula that was agreed upon with the Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection as soon as possible.
