The reality of the poultry sector and prices in a meeting of the Minister of Internal Trade with breeders

The Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, Dr. Amr Salem, discussed this morning with poultry breeders, mothers and owners of slaughterhouses the reality of work, prices, solutions and appropriate mechanisms to encourage poultry farming and cover the needs of the local market at reasonable prices.

During the meeting, the price of feathered and slaughtered broilers was determined, and a committee was formed to study the prices of broiler material, starting from the breeder and ending with its arrival to the consumer, working to determine the price in the correct manner and according to its production costs.

Minister Salem stressed the government’s keenness to provide various forms of support to poultry breeders and to secure the production requirements of this sector to cover the needs of the local market and provide them at the appropriate price for breeders and producers alike. Currently, to control the work of feed importers and ensure the provision of feed according to regular invoices.

Minister Salem asked to work immediately to find solutions to the problems that hinder the work of breeders and that contribute to encouraging and preserving them, and setting up a regular and accurate pricing mechanism in accordance with the regulations and laws that take into account the real cost of producing broilers and their requirements and the arrival of the material to the market at a price that is commensurate with the purchasing power of the consumer and not to lose the breeders .

The minister called to work directly to control the price of chicken meat and put it at the appropriate price according to the real cost and not to commit violations from any activity, indicating that the most severe penalties will be taken against anyone who tries to sell at an extra price and manipulate its specified price and specifications of this article.

The meeting was attended by the directors of consumer protection and prices in the ministry and the Damascus branch of the Syrian Foundation for Trade, Internal Trade, Consumer Protection in Damascus and the Agricultural Economy in the Ministry of Agriculture, representing the ministry.
