The World Economic Forum has announced this Monday the postponement of its annual meeting in Davos, which was to take place from January 17 to 21, due to the worsening of the health situation in Switzerland due to the pandemic and the imposition of new restrictions that include the presence of maximum numbers of people in closed spaces.
The Forum indicates that it plans to hold this meeting in the middle of the year, at the beginning of next summer.
This is the second year in a row that the World Economic Forum has been forced to postpone its most famous meeting, which in recent decades became a global event capable of bringing together the political, economic and business elite. globally to define the priorities for the year.
"The current conditions of the pandemic make it extremely difficult to host a global meeting in person," the Forum explains in a statement.
"Despite the strict health protocols of the meeting, the transmissibility of omicron and its impact on travel and mobility have made the postponement necessary."
January's planned Annual Meeting will be deferred to later in 2022 https://t.co/eUI8Ea4TeL
