Gold prices rose to exceed the level of 1800 dollars in limited trading ahead of the end of the year holiday.
According to Reuters, spot gold rose 0.4 percent to $1809.89 an ounce, while US gold futures rose 0.5 percent at settlement to $1811.70 an ounce.
As for other precious metals, silver rose 0.5% in spot transactions to $22.89 an ounce, and platinum rose 0.8 percent to $972.84.
