Vaccinated, recovered or tested in the workplace - the federal and state governments renewed this requirement at their switch before Christmas.

Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg (RBB) is now tightening the rules: The 2G rule will apply to employees from Monday.

The public broadcasting corporation announced this on request, thereby confirming a report by the »Welt«.

The workforce was informed of the new regulation on Thursday via email and on the intranet, said RBB spokesman Justus Demmer.

You refer to rooms and vehicles of the RBB.

Anyone who cannot or does not want to present the required documents or certificates does not come into the house.

At the same time, emphasis is placed on the need to work on the move - i.e. outside of the RBB - whenever possible.

Ask about sanctions »not currently on top of our agenda«

In view of the rapid expansion of the omicron variant, this rule is considered to be sensible and necessary.

An urgent request came from the group of employees to review the previous rules with a view to broadcast safety and the health of the people in the house.

All protective and precautionary measures are based on ensuring these points.

These are met by the management in close coordination with the company doctor.

The RBB apparently does not share concerns that the regulation could be legally challengeable.

It was coordinated with the legal department.

When asked how any violations should be punished, it was said that so far no one has experienced that protective and precautionary measures in the transmitter have been deliberately circumvented.

That is why the question of sanctions is "not currently high on our agenda."

The sender does not expect a problem in cases where the work cannot be done mobile.

According to Demmer, many processes at the RBB have been converted to mobile working in such a way that "employees without a current vaccination can continue to be employed and included".

The RBB does not expect the new rule to have any significant impact on the program.

You can meet conversation or interview guests outside the RBB or via switch.

RBB director Patricia Schlesinger will take over the chairmanship of ARD in 2022, succeeding WDR director Tom Buhrow.

The chair directs the business of the working group.

The RBB is now taking on this task for the first time in the history of the network.
